It was a good run, but the Marshall Phoenix unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of KIPP SF College Prep. Marshall has not had much luck with KIPP SF College Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Marshall lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Martel Peters, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Peters has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Aceves, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for KIPP SF College Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Marshall will head out on the road to square off against Wallenberg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. KIPP SF College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
