In what's become a running theme this season, the Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 95-47 victory over Veritas School. The victory was nothing new for Veritas Collegiate Academy as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Veritas Collegiate Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcqell Freeman out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Freeman has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jailen Pinnix, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Veritas Collegiate Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Veritas School, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Veritas Collegiate Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays Christchurch School at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Veritas Collegiate Academy is facing Christchurch School at the right time seeing as Christchurch School is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Veritas School, they and New Covenant will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Veritas School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 359th, while New Covenant is ranked 72nd).
