The Miramar Patriots had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Coconut Creek 61-24 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-10.
Miramar can attribute much of their success to Nehemiah Jean-Charles, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds. Jean-Charles is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice McTizic, who scored 6 points.
When it comes to explaining why Coconut Creek lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Jeremiah Ray. Despite the final result, he scored 8 points along with 3 blocks.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Coconut Creek struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Miramar racked up 14.
Miramar's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Coconut Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miramar will take on Hallandale at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coconut Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Pine Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pine Crest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
