Nokomis is 6-1 against Cony since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Nokomis' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Cony's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Friday just wasn't the day for Nokomis' offense. They came up short against Hermon on Friday, falling 11-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since May 4th.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cony ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Winslow 7-6. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Black Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Olivia Duplessis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kya Douin was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Brown, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
Cony kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winslow only managed six.
The win got Cony back to even at 7-7. As for Nokomis, they dropped their record down to 8-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Nokomis was able to grind out a solid victory over Cony in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 9-6. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
