Even though the Carey Blue Devils have not done well against the Buckeye Central Bucks recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. Carey wrapped up 2023 with a  53-36 victory over Buckeye Central. That  53-36 margin sets a new team best for Carey this season.
 Carey's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Rachel Reinhart, who  scored 11 points.  Kelsey Bursby was another key contributor,  scoring nine points along with five  rebounds.
 Carey's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Buckeye Central, they are  on a six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carey will take on Lake at 7:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 662nd, while Carey is ranked 83rd). As for Buckeye Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Upper Sandusky at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Upper Sandusky is hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
