Germantown waltzed into their contest on Saturday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Everything went their way against the Cedarburg Bulldogs as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warhawks, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Germantown got a great performance from Logan Zaverl as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Grady Cheever was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April. Ian Demichiel was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Germantown pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Cedarburg, they moved to 10-17 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
