The Grasso Tech Eagles waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Norwich RVT by a score of 54-41. This was payback for Grasso Tech, who suffered a 64-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Grasso Tech had a senior duo take command as Charis Johnson scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds and Nick Stavesky scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Stavesky continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ethan Chacha- Mizhquiri was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Grasso Tech's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Norwich RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Grasso Tech will play host again and welcome Platt RVT, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Platt RVT is ranked 122nd, while Grasso Tech is ranked 141st). As for Norwich RVT, they will head out on the road to challenge Harvard Ellis Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
