The Sugar-Salem Diggers will head out to square off against the Teton Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Teton will be up against a hot Sugar-Salem team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Diggers were the clear victors by a 22-13 margin over South Fremont on Thursday. The game was the first time the Diggers have beaten the Cougars on their field since April 23, 2024.

Sugar-Salem got a massive performance out of Seneca Bitter, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave Bitter a new career-high. Allie Christensen was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Sugar-Salem kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Teton made easy work of West Jefferson on Friday and carried off a 14-3 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Timberwolves, who have now won five games in a row.
Gracie Kincaid made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Kincaid was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kadence Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Calli Wombacher, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Sugar-Salem pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Teton, their record is now 11-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sugar-Salem has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Teton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Sugar-Salem came out on top in a nail-biter against Teton in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 21-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Diggers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
