Highland had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Tolleson Wolverines 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  win the Hawks have posted  since April 10, 2024.
 Cayden Hammond made a splash no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. Hammond was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base.
 In other batting news, Highland let  Nixon Harnish and  Beau Tarwater run wild. Harnish  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3, while  Tarwater  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mason Porter, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base.
Tolleson now  has a losing record of 1-2.
 Looking ahead, Highland will head out on the road to  face off against  Verrado  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Tolleson, they will take on Casteel at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
