The Payson Lions posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 59-35 margin over Provo. Winning may never get old, but Payson sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Payson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cheznie Roundy out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Quincey Mathews, who scored 14 points along with two blocks.
The win got Payson back to even at 7-7. As for Provo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Payson will take on Timpanogos at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Provo, they will head out on the road to square off against Uintah at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Uintah is ranked 104th, while Provo is ranked 97th).
