West Nodaway scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 75-27 win over DeKalb. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory West Nodaway has managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of 14 wins, Rock Port's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 65-43 defeat at the hands of Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson]. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rock Port in their matchups with the : they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cade Makings, who scored eight points along with five assists and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Corbyn Jakub, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
West Nodaway has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Rock Port, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5.
West Nodaway came up short against the Blue Jays when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 51-46. Can West Nodaway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
