LaFayette is 10-0 against Beauregard since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the LaFayette Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Beauregard Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (LaFayette has seven straight wins, Beauregard has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
LaFayette can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Horseshoe Bend with a sharp 65-45 victory. Given LaFayette's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Horseshoe Bend is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Deaundra Vines, who scored 18 points along with eight steals and seven assists. Vaderrian Story was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Beauregard suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Valley at home and fell 82-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Beauregard in their matchups with Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
LaFayette is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Beauregard, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for LaFayette against Beauregard when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 65-38 victory. Will LaFayette repeat their success, or does Beauregard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
