Basketball Recap: Choctaw County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Choctaw County can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 64-39 margin over the Sweet Water Bulldogs. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 22 point advantage.

Choctaw County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jarrod Chaney led the charge by putting up seven points in addition to 11 assists and five steals. Those 11 assists gave Chaney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Adams, who went 6 of 9 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Chaney wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Choctaw County was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Choctaw County's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-10. As for Sweet Water, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Choctaw County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shields at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shields has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three matches. As for Sweet Water, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Marengo at 7:00 p.m.
