The San Manuel Miners lost against the Duncan Wildkats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. San Manuel fell 29-20 to the Wildkats. San Manuel has not had much luck with the Wildkats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
San Manuel lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gyannah Madrid, who scored six points along with three steals. Madrid is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Ruiz, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Duncan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camille Miller, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Emily Kempton, who scored eight points.
San Manuel has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Duncan, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8.
San Manuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Duncan will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Superior is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
