The Purchase Line Red Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 90-57 defeat at the hands of United. Purchase Line has not had much luck with United recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Jakob Mountain and Jacob Kauffman certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Mountain scored 18 points, while Kauffman scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Kauffman scored 15 or more points. Ian Layden was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Purchase Line's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for United, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Purchase Line will head out on the road to face off against Northern Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Northern Cambria presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Purchase Line in Pennsylvania (Northern Cambria is ranked 311th, while Purchase Line is ranked 728th). As for United, they will be playing at home against Penns Manor at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Penns Manor and United are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
