It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lowry Buckaroos ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They escaped with a win against Kuna by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55. Given Lowry's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in Nevada, while Kuna is ranked 54th in Idaho), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Savannah Stoker, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. The match was her 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Britain Backus, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Lowry's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Kuna, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowry will take on Spring Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kuna, they will be playing at home against Nampa at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Nampa comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
