Basketball Recap: Amaya Hill Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Vanlue

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Cardinal Stritch on Tuesday. They strolled past the Vanlue Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 45-30. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 54-31 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cardinal Stritch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amaya Hill, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 boards. Hill has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Miller, who posted 13 points.

Adrienne Phillips and Olivia Secord certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Phillips almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards, while Secord scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.

With the victory, Cardinal Stritch broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-12. As for Vanlue, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Cardinal Stritch is taking a road trip to square off against Waite at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Cardinal Stritch is facing Waite at the right time seeing as Waite is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Vanlue has already played their next game, a 45-26 loss against Leipsic on the 30th.
