After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Ranch, Vasquez was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Lancaster Eagles 81-66. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Vasquez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daeron Bankett led the charge by going 10-for-12 on his way to 22 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Rowley, who shot 56% from the field en route to 19 points and six steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Vasquez was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Vasquez's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lancaster, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Vasquez and Lancaster will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs will square off against rival Faith Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lancaster is set to face off against their familiar foe Palmdale at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
