The Freedom Eagles couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Riverside by a score of 48-45. Freedom has struggled against Riverside recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Riverside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shane Crissman, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Galileo Thomas, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds.
Freedom's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Freedom will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lightridge at 7:15 p.m. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Woodson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
