Longmont extended their losing streak to seven on Saturday, dropping them down to 9-11. They came up short against the Northfield Nighthawks, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly ten runs.
Longmont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Magley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
As for Northfield, their record now sits at 14-7. The result was nothing new for the Nighthawks, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
On Northfield's side, Adler Hickey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Hickey a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Jackson Taylor looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Peter Worth was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Eli Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Longmont will square off against Broomfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. Northfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
