West Bloomfield came into Wednesday's matchup having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the Walled Lake Central Vikings 56-54. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lakers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th in Michigan, while the Vikings are ranked 35th in Michigan).

West Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Walled Lake Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-5 record.

Looking ahead, West Bloomfield will be taking part in a tournament against St. Mary's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Bloomfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully St. Mary's Prep likes a good challenge. Walled Lake Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
