It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Chapman Panthers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Chester on Friday, falling 58-24. Chapman's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Coleman Gray, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Trooper Floyd, who threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Reggie Heath, who gained 132 total yards and two touchdowns.
Chapman's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Chester, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Chapman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chester will head out on the road to face off against Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Daniel's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
