Baseball Recap: Williamsburg Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Williamsburg lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Curwensville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Blue Pirates were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Golden Tide on Thursday. The Blue Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Konner Harker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of William Lower, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Williamsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Curwensville struck out seven times.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Williamsburg, bringing their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Curwensville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
