Even though SEED DC scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, the Parkside Eagles still came out on top. Parkside had just enough and edged SEED DC out 66-63. The win made it back-to-back wins for Parkside.
Semaj Marshall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. Kasson James was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
SEED DC lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Markal Ingram, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ingram scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wendell Allsbrook, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Parkside pushed their record up to 15-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for SEED DC, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bell at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Bell is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for SEED DC, SEED DC and BASIS will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (BASIS is ranked 37th, while SEED DC is ranked 35th).
