The North Posey Vikings's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Heritage Hills Patriots on Saturday. North Posey put the hurt on Pike Central with a sharp 44-21 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory North Posey has posted since November 17, 2023.
North Posey's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Heath, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Heath also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Elle jo Johnson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals.
Despite the defeat, Pike Central saw an underclassman step up: Ava Miller scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Miller posted two or more blocks.
North Posey pushed their record up to 8-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Pike Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Coincidentally, North Posey and Pike Central will both be playing Princeton the next time they take the court. North Posey will head out to face Princeton at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pike Central will host them at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
