Manhattan/Manhattan Christian extended the longest winning streak in Southern 5B this week by beating Three Forks/Willow Creek, 63-26. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Jefferson and Whitehall/Harrison played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Jefferson eventually emerging with a 21-17 victory. Alex Brunett threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 32 yards in the win.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground David Weinmeister chipped in 53 yards. Sam Fletcher helped Jefferson's passing attack out by catching four balls for 48 yards.
Jed Fike was the best wideout in the league this week as Jefferson bested the Trojans. Fike tallied three receptions for 72 yards.
Jefferson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brunett has thrown for 614 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Tony Butler has 11 catches for 233 yards. Weinmeister leads the league in rushing with 235 yards.
Sweet Grass County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,259 from 13,257. The advance stemmed from a 37-0 victory over Conrad last week.
