It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Santaluces Chiefs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Palm Beach Gardens by a score of 35-28.
Santaluces got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shyeia Deveaux out in front who threw for 279 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamar Browder, who picked up 88 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Santaluces has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 8-3 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.6 points per game. As for Palm Beach Gardens, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.
Santaluces will head out on the road to face off against Monarch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monarch is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Palm Beach Gardens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
