Latta has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the East Clarendon Wolverines at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Latta is ranked 289th, while East Clarendon is ranked 294th).
Last Friday, Latta came up short against Green Sea Floyds and fell 61-50.
The losing side was boosted by Dorian Griffin, who scored 30 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Jones, who scored six points along with three steals.
Latta struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
East Clarendon can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took down Hemingway 69-55. East Clarendon's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Latta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for East Clarendon, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.
Latta didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against East Clarendon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Latta since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
