Central of Clay County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Horseshoe Bend Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Central of Clay County has not done well against Sylacauga recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Central of Clay County walked away with a 62-55 win over Sylacauga. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, even though Wadley scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Horseshoe Bend still came out on top. Horseshoe Bend took their match against Wadley 70-57.
Central of Clay County's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Horseshoe Bend, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Everything went Central of Clay County's way against Horseshoe Bend in their previous matchup back in November as Central of Clay County made off with a 63-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central of Clay County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
