The Chancellor Chargers will face off against the Caroline Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chancellor comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Chancellor's offense. They lost 20-0 to Courtland on Tuesday.
Chancellor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francesca Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was Williams' first of the season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Caroline made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mechanicsville on Wednesday. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Jaidyn Tingen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tingen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Dezi McDowney, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Caroline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mechanicsville only posted an OBP of .059.
The win made it two in a row for Caroline and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Chancellor, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Chancellor suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Caroline in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
