Basketball Game Preview: Hancock Central Bulldogs vs. Johnson County Trojans

Hancock Central is 5-0 against Johnson County since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hancock Central Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Johnson County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Hancock Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.

Hancock Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Glascock County to the tune of 100-22 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hancock Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryston Reynolds, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Reynolds a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Na'Jee Reynolds, who scored 15 points.

Meanwhile, Johnson County posted their closest win since January 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Georgia Military College, sneaking past 59-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Johnson County is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Hancock Central, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Hancock Central was able to grind out a solid win over Johnson County in their previous meeting on January 14th, winning 62-54. Will Hancock Central repeat their success, or does Johnson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
