Kirbyville is 8-2 against Hardin since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Kirbyville Wildcats will venture away from home to  face off against the Hardin Hornets  at 12:00  p.m. Kirbyville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Kirbyville barely beat East Chambers the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Kirbyville's pitcher stepped up to hand East Chambers  a   12-0 shutout  on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matchups by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
The team  relied heavily on  Sydney Wheeler, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  triple. Another player making a difference was  Maddie Simmos, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 Kirbyville was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .474 or higher in three consecutive  games.
Meanwhile, Hardin can  bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Tuesday. They came out on top against Warren by a score of  3-0.
The result came thanks to  Olivia Dryden's shutout, as she gave up just a  hit and racked up seven Ks.
 At the plate, Hardin let  Jaydin Brown and  Kaitlyn Key run wild. Brown  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while  Key  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Kirbyville's win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 16-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hardin, their  victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7-1.
 Everything went Kirbyville's way against Hardin when the teams last played  back in April of 2024, as Kirbyville made off with  a  13-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kirbyville since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
