At the plate, Hardin let Jaydin Brown and Kaitlyn Key run wild. Brown scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Key went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Kirbyville's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hardin, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7-1.
Everything went Kirbyville's way against Hardin when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Kirbyville made off with a 13-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kirbyville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
