Aubrey Shaffer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoie DeCostro, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Addi Bracco was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Thomas Jefferson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Baldwin put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Albert Gallatin. The Fighting Highlanders blew past the Colonials 9-0. The victory continues a trend for the Fighting Highlanders in their matchups with the Colonials: they've now won three in a row.
The result came thanks to Melina Defelice's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Jordan Gerendash and Reese Temme did most of the damage at the plate: Gerendash went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Temme went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Avery Herrington, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Thomas Jefferson's record is now 5-2-1. As for Baldwin, their record now sits at 7-1.
Everything went Thomas Jefferson's way against Baldwin in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Thomas Jefferson made off with a 14-5 win. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Fighting Highlanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
