St. John Paul II entered their tilt with Godby on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Panthers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Avant was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Levarius McClure II, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

St. John Paul II pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Godby, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II will take on FAMU DRS at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Godby, they will square off against Menendez at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Menendez has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.93 runs per game on average), something Godby will no doubt try to take advantage of.
