Basketball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy Takes a Loss

Langtree Charter Academy played against Jackson Day and lost via forfeit.

Jackson Day's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tralyn Phillips, who went 8 for 11 on her way to 18 points and five steals. Phillips is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laylah Toscano, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals.

Langtree Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Jackson Day, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Langtree Charter Academy and Highland Tech will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Highland Tech's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Langtree Charter Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Jackson Day, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gray Stone Day at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gray Stone Day has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
