Basketball Recap: Marion Center Skates Past Homer-Center with Ease

Marion Center won against River Valley last Tuesday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Marion Center Stingers blew past the Homer-Center Wildcats 71-44. This was a revenge game for the Stingers: when they faced off against the Wildcats on January 7th, they had to take a 61-49 loss.

Marion Center had a senior duo take command as Noah Mccoy went 9 for 22 on his way to 24 points and five steals and Cameron Pack almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine assists. Those 24 points gave Mccoy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamden Rozier, who went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points.

Marion Center was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Marion Center is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Homer-Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Marion Center will host Penns Manor at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Marion Center's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Homer-Center, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Punxsutawney at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th.
