Harpeth stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet.
The team relied heavily on Hayden Penrod, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Merritt, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past East Nashville Magnet 6-5.
Luke Lawson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Lawson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
