Even though the Davie War Eagles have not done well against the East Forsyth Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Davie secured a 60-54 W over the Eagles. The team accrued 49 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Davie's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Aderhold, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malayka Rankin, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
East Forsyth's loss came despite strong showings from Landry Tsujii and Mya Booth. Tsujii scored 20 points, while Booth scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tsujii has scored all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Davie and bumps their season record up to 11-7. As for East Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.
Davie will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Reagan is ranked 230th, while the War Eagles are ranked 211th). As for East Forsyth, they will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
