Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Rodney Henderson III and Adarius Brewster Lead Tyner Academy to Victory

Tyner Academy posted their closest win since January 8th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Austin-East Roadrunners 67-64. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 53.2 points per game.

Tyner Academy was led to victory by Adarius Brewster and Rodney Henderson III. Brewster went 7 for 13 on his way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists, while Henderson III went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Henderson III is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohl Ward, who posted seven points along with six assists and five steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Tyner Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got Tyner Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Austin-East, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4.

Tyner Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-46 win against Brainerd on the 7th. As for Austin-East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-56 defeat against Gatlinburg-Pittman on the 10th.
