Kanyon Pratt made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since April 4th. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.
In other batting news, Brady Penland was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
West Field kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Timpanogos unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of West Jordan by a score of 5-3.
Carter Hall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
West Field pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Timpanogos, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Field hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Timpanogos struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
