Even though Lake Norman Charter scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Pine Lake Prep still came out on top. Pine Lake Prep snuck past Lake Norman Charter with a 68-62 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Lake Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wes Statzer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Statzer pulled down eight or more rebounds. Lucas Strickfaden was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Latin didn't have too much trouble with Spartanburg Day at home on Friday as they won 44-30. That looming 44-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Charlotte Latin yet this season.
Pine Lake Prep now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Charlotte Latin, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Pine Lake Prep was taken down by Charlotte Latin 73-45 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Can Pine Lake Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
