The Caro Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the New Lothrop Hornets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Caro will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Caro is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Vassar a 26-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Max Grice was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grice was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Caro got a massive performance out of Owen Creutz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Creutz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Clish, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and three RBI.
Caro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, New Lothrop was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Goodrich, falling 18-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Martians: they've now lost six in a row.
New Lothrop's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Caro, their record is now 6-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Caro has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like New Lothrop struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Caro might still be hurting after the 18-6 defeat they got from New Lothrop in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
