On Tuesday, everything went Lumberton's way against Gray's Creek as Lumberton made off with a 71-51 victory. Given Lumberton's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Gray's Creek is ranked 540th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lumberton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Lawson out in front who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawson has scored all season. Jaiden Shephard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Lumberton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Gray's Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Everything went Lumberton's way against Gray's Creek in their previous meeting on Tuesday as Lumberton made off with a 71-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lumberton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
