The North Hagerstown Hubs won the last time they faced the Tuscarora Titans, and things went their way on Friday too. North Hagerstown took down Tuscarora 69-53. Given North Hagerstown's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Tuscarora is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Hagerstown was led to victory by Will Bonds and Brady Walters. Bonds scored 17 points, while Walters dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Walters has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Khalil Peggues was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
North Hagerstown's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Tuscarora, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
North Hagerstown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Williamsport at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Williamsport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. As for Tuscarora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manchester Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Tuscarora likes a good challenge.
