After flying high against the Puget Sound Adventist Sharks on Monday, the Northwest Yeshiva Lions came back down to earth. Northwest Yeshiva was beaten by Crosspoint 69-33 on Wednesday. Northwest Yeshiva has struggled against Crosspoint recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Northwest Yeshiva still got an impressive performance from Paulina Gamel, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rose Clayman, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Leading Crosspoint to victory were Lucy Wasson and Momoyo Iwata. Wasson scored 16 points, while Iwata scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Kuske, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Northwest Yeshiva's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Crosspoint, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Yeshiva won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Summit Classical Christian School at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th. Summit Classical Christian School comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Crosspoint will be home for the holidays to greet Muckleshoot Tribal at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Muckleshoot Tribal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Crosspoint is ranked 37th).
