Dolores hasn't had much luck against Monticello recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bears will square off against the Buckaroo at 3:30 p.m. Dolores will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Dolores' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Center. The game marked the Bears' most dominant win of the season.

Hayden Lancaster made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Dolores is 4-1 when Lancaster posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Levi Hampton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Dolores' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Gus Vaughn was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Dolores was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Monticello's offense. They fell 4-0 to South Sevier on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Buckaroo in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost seven in a row.
Dolores pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Monticello, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dolores has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monticello struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dolores suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Monticello in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
