Big Spring is 1-9 against Estacado since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Big Spring Steers will head out on the road to challenge the Estacado Matadors at 6:15 p.m. Big Spring is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Big Spring suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 93-4 loss at the hands of Levelland. While losing is never fun, Big Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1256th, while Levelland is ranked 91st).
Meanwhile, Estacado can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sweetwater as Estacado made off with a 42-18 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Estacado has posted since December 29, 2023.
Big Spring has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season. As for Estacado, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-11.
Big Spring was dealt a bruising 61-13 defeat at the hands of Estacado when the teams last played on January 9th. Can Big Spring avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
