The Randleman Tigers waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Providence Grove by a score of 59-48. Given Randleman's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Providence Grove is ranked 452nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyshaun Goldston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Pacey Wagner, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Randleman pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Providence Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.
Randleman will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Providence Grove, they will be playing at home against Wheatmore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheatmore has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
