Even though the Tri-Valley Bulldogs scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, Marian Catholic still came out on top. Marian Catholic took their contest against Tri-Valley 67-59. This was payback for Marian Catholic, who suffered a 56-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Marian Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jesse Rodino out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Rodino is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James Rodino, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dawsyn Manning, who scored 17 points along with seven assists. Another player making a difference was Layne Yoder, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Marian Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Tri-Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.
