Rocky Hill dropped their record down to 8-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Southington Blue Knights, falling 12-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Terriers have suffered since May 6, 2024.
Lianna Tejada was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles. Ally Killoran was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
As for Southington, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Blue Knights, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
On Southington's side, Shelby Jordan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Jordan has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Reagan Salvatore was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Kenefick, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Rocky Hill will host Newington at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Nor'easters have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.8 runs per game on average), something the Terriers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southington, they are taking a road trip to face off against Middletown at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
